and she's a dropbox board member!

another good fact, IMHO, if we apply this doing sth we love, doesn't completly feel like burning out.. does it?

I think if you're doing something you really love, you are less likely to suffer from burnout.

Same %, still amazon might beat GCE when it comes to features.

looks like dynamic is not supported in Roslyn CTP

I second this one! makes more sense than plain 200.

I can't believe you guys are debating the correct HTTP return code for a joke service? Besides, it's obviously 200.

These provide great opportunities for better understanding return codes.

Besides, for POST it is obviously 202 ACCEPTED

Does it discard data in a manner compliant with FIPS 140-2? Or NIST SP800-88?

Wait... is it a joke?

I hope not, I've been depending on this service for a while. I have it integrated via FUSE on my prod servers.

We did have some problems of blocking on large files, which is less than ideal for a /dev/null service.

After dealing with their customer support (which has been super helpful), we are looking to move to a named pipe / FIFO.. Which will non-block and cache lolcally, with a watcher service to push it to their site.

Happy Customer, A+++, would recommend.

Well with the planned dev/random support, this is going to kick ass.

Monopoly? there is nothing stopping any other company from competing, I mean, they got BING...

I am a .NET developer, did not know about Jackson, I just saw it and oh man! now I understand you. way way simpler.

I hate when this sort of stuff happens in the Java world, gives me the feeling of almost "manually" parsing it, the impl could be better, if take as an example other impl as Json.net for .NET

No panic, just having converstation about it! :) I think we can see it more like a service.

I'm just having fun! And dealing with my own PANIC in my own way.

Seriously though, think how dependent a lot of people are on Twitter. I'm not just talking about us nerds who like tweeting links about CSS hacks, or the people who like to take photos of their food.

Here in the UK train companies use it to put out information on service status. News networks use it as their primary means of connecting with the audience. Hell, I have several friends who seem to conduct their entire relationship via Twitter. It's also become the go-to method of communication for people who want to get a message to companies.

Whether or not this is overkill, that's for individuals to decide. But I'm 100% sure that Twitter has outgrown itself.

I guess the main reason is to have the status page separate so it can truly monitor the twitter service.
