Amazon Prime Video to Have Ads in UK from February (bbc.co.uk)

This was my tipping point to cancel Prime which I have had since 2005.

Freevee was bad enough, Prime delivery? I can wait. Prime music? Do not use. Books? Easy to find elsewhere. Gaming? I have too many on Steam. Photos? Onedrive + iCloud work. Exclusives on video like Clarkson's Farm? I know where to look as do many here.

I probably was not getting the purported value anyway but inertia kept things as they were. This shift made me look again and actually try to find the value.

There is none.

I've just cancelled too and also recently with Netflix. Maybe it's the type of content I want to view but I mostly watch movies and it's been a while since I thought either platforms were any value.

I'm not sure if it's a symptom of poorer quality movies in general or the number of streaming sites available but I'm not paying for something I don't use, free prime delivery isn't enough a reason.
